Lessonday keeps your teaching schedule, your students and your record of the work in one place on your iPhone. It needs no account, works with no signal, and is not a platform your students log into.
There is nothing to configure. Open the app, add a student, give them a subject, and schedule their first lesson. If you set your hourly rate in Settings once, every lesson picks it up automatically — you only override it where a particular subject or a particular student is different.
No. There is no sign-up, no email address and no password. The app is usable the moment it opens.
Yes, completely. Your data lives on your iPhone, so the app opens instantly and every feature works in airplane mode.
Turn on sync in Settings. Your records are then kept in the private database of your own iCloud account. Sign in with the same Apple Account on the new iPhone, install Lessonday, turn sync on there too, and your history appears. There is nothing to export and nothing to restore by hand.
No. We run no server that holds your records, and the iCloud database is yours, not ours. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
Check that the same Apple Account is signed in on both devices, that iCloud Drive is enabled in iOS Settings, and that Lessonday is switched on in your Apple Account → iCloud → Saved to iCloud. The first sync after enabling can take a few minutes; leave the app open and connected to Wi-Fi.
Set your usual rate once in Settings. You can then override it for a specific subject, or for a specific student on their profile. The most specific rate wins, and the totals on the stats screen follow it.
Yes. In the new-lesson screen you can paste the text of a message, or pick a screenshot of one. The app reads it on your device and pre-fills the date, time, student and place where it can. Always check the result before saving — it fills in a draft, it does not decide anything.
Thirty-nine subjects come built in across music, sport, academics, language, martial arts, dance, craft, tech and wellness. If yours is missing, add it as a custom subject — it behaves exactly like the built-in ones.
No. Lessonday is a private notebook for your own teaching. There is no student login, no parent portal and nothing is shared with anyone.
Not yet. This version is built for iPhone only, so that the layout is right rather than merely stretched. Tell us if you want it on iPad and it will count towards the decision.
Delete individual students or lessons inside the app, or delete the app from your iPhone to remove the local database with it. If you used sync, you can also clear the app's iCloud data in iOS Settings under your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
